Japan – Saori’s Story

Saori Akiyama  – Yamanashi in Japan -

Hello my name is Saori Akiyama, I’m from Yamanashi in Japan.

I would like to thank English Language Institute Ireland for finding me a host family and sending a very kind and good teacher to my host family home every day for 9 months in 2009 to study business English.

When I came to Ireland I was very nervous, I was on my own and didn’t know anybody. The host family were so kind to me and learned many new things that are different from my culture like baking, knitting sweater, drama class, horseback riding.

The English Language Institute Ireland arranged everything for me I didnt have to worry, they even got me a job in a shop.
My confidence is great now, I am like a new woman, my mother doesnt know me when I come home.
Now I work in a English Language School in my home town I use my English everyday.

Thank you Mark for your pateince and help, Michelle for making sure everything was fine for me and getting me job. Jane my teacher, you taught me so much for my business now and I keep write a diary in English, and my lovely host mom Marjorie for being my mother in Ireland.
